Labour's stereotyping of minorities

Labour Assembly Member Carl Sargant displayed exactly the sort of prejudices which Labour are usually fond of condemning. During a debate on the Right to Roam Act he got up and to cheers from his colleagues referred to "gunslinging landowners." who he suggested posed a threat to the safety of ramblers. I wonder what the Labour AMs would have said had any other minority group been described en masse as gunslingers, bomb throwers or terrorist supporters.

I have always defended minority groups. Last year I produced figures which showed that the vast majority of Muslims who have been arrested in high profile raids have never been charged with any crime.

My gripe is not with minorities it is with the organisations who claim to represent them, and with political correctness in general.

Isn't political correctness just a continuation of politness? Granted, it can be taken to excess, but it's simply not being rude to/about people
