Vive La France

Three cheers for the French who have rejected the constitution. A majority do not support plans to supplant the sovereign nations of Europe and replace them with a highly centralised federal state run by an unaccountable bureaucratic elite.

Perhaps those running the European Union will take note.

Why would have thought it, common sense from the French! Maybe there is a God after all.

I hope those running the European Union will take note. I think my hopes will be dashed, but let's hope I'm wrong.

Do you know that every vote that goes through the European council of ministers, (the second house of the European parliment), can be changed by MPs in the uk parliament simply asking to vote on it. It is in the rules of the European parliament that any parliament can debate on and vote to change the vote of their minister.

P.S.
What is your preferred email address for your MP persona, rather than your welsh gov address?

As a French, i might say that i am very very pround that we the French people voted no against this constitution which clearly said "the european law will be superior to the national law".
This is a victory for liberalism too, and we the french people we need liberalism, we had twenty five years of socialism in the past and that still continues with Chirac the worn. Britain has shown example with great reformers like Margaret Thatcher and John Major, one day we will follow your path and leave the rest of Europe and most notably Germany in darkness of the socialism.

I also hope that Britain will use her veto against the European project of scraping the British rebare.

Come on Rule Britannia and thanks for this great blog mister Davies.
